Just FYI

In case you haven't heard yet....Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, has reached a revenue sharing deal with Yahoo. This means that Google will no longer be the default search engine as of the release of Lucid Lynx this year. You can however still change your search provider to Google easily. The reason this matters to many is because Microsoft's Bing search engine is powering Yahoo's results now, so basically you are getting some Microsoft in your Linux, and they are profiting off searches by Ubuntu users.
Some don't care, some are outraged, some are watching closely to see how this plays out. Microsoft is creeping deeper and deeper into the open source and linux realm with Moonlight, Mono, and now this.

I personally will still be using Google because I love their products and they make my life easier. But I will definitely be happy that in the process I am not helping Microsoft. I am glad Canonical is going to make some money from their hard work on Ubuntu, but I wish it was coming from somewhere else.

Kipdola Twitter Sync (Kipdosync) is a beta Facebook app that works well and does what many have been searching for. It takes your status updates on Twitter and posts them to your Facebook Fan Page Wall! And no, you do NOT have to add #fb like other apps require. If that weren't enough, you can convert Twitter tags (@username) to Facebook tags, the ability to use inclusion & exclusion keyword and tweet-chaining!

To add it to your Fan Page click here, click the Add To Page link, choose your Fan Page (not your regular profile), then in your applications edit the settings to put in your Twitter username, and make sure you give the app permissions otherwise it won't work. Done!

It's just what we wanted!

If you're having trouble with Gmail in Google Chrome (which you'd think they'd have that running smoother than silk right?) just open Gmail in an Incognito Window and for some reason it works fine. Go figure.
